Our society has become selfish and short-sighted and our failure to make principled decisions is threatening the prosperity of future generations.  Young people are already paying for the failures of past governments and we risk making this situation very much worse.

The New Party believes that young people are probably getting a worse deal now than at any time in living memory.  School leavers are often ill-prepared for the real world, students are burdened by debt, careers are scarce and it is virtually impossible to buy a house.  Meanwhile, politicians use weasel words to hide their guilt.

Everyone has the right to a life free from the mistakes and debts of previous generations. However, the generation in power continues to reap all the benefits whilst failing to make fair provision for those who follow.
