Biography
Alan Buchan is a Printer/Publisher who owns his own newspaper, the Buchan Advertiser. Prior to this he was the skipper of a fishing boat for 15 years. Alan was born in Fraserburgh. He attended Peterhead Academy and then Aberdeen University. Alan now lives in Peterhead. He is a former chairman of the Peterhead Community Council. He was also the regional organiser for the Referendum Party.
Reasons for Supporting the New Party
Unfortunately the only real growth industry in the North East in recent years has been drugs and I fully approve of the New Party’s proposals to tackle drug crime and to increase the resources of the Procurator Fiscal’s office. I also think that their policy to repatriate our territorial water makes a lot of sense. Scottish fishermen were sold down the water by the government and it is now incumbent on government to take remedial action.
